FixturesCloseUp Founder Joins Who’s Who of America

What an honor to share a milestone that recognizes more than five decades of work in retail merchandising, marketing communications, advertising, engineering, publishing, and historical documentation.

Marquis Who’s Who of America has notified me that I have been selected for inclusion in its 2026 Marquis Who’s Who directory. My professional listing will appear in Marquis Biographies Online (MBO), the subscription reference database used by universities, libraries, researchers, journalists, executive recruiters, corporations, and other organizations throughout the world.

While this FixturesCloseUp Founder Joins Who’s Who of America recognition is certainly a personal honor, I view it as recognition of a much broader effort. During my career, I have had the privilege of working with outstanding retailers, manufacturers, designers, engineers, photographers, writers, and marketers who have advanced the retail merchandising industry. Their creativity and innovation inspired much of my own work, and ultimately FixturesCloseUp.

Since founding FixturesCloseUp.com in 2019, my goal has been to preserve and share the history, technology, and artistry of retail fixtures and visual merchandising. What began as a modest educational website has grown into one of the world’s largest specialized archives devoted to retail fixtures, store planning, point-of-purchase displays, and merchandising systems.

This Marquis recognition joins another memorable milestone earlier this year, when my original SYMAP computer-generated cartographic work was accepted into the collections of the Library of Congress. Together, these honors reinforce my commitment to preserving knowledge for future generations and documenting an industry that has played a vital role in the evolution of retailing.

I extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and contributed to FixturesCloseUp over the years. I hope the website continues to serve retailers, fixture manufacturers, educators, students, historians, and researchers for many years to come.
