Without naming names, I know well-respected retail chains that treat their employees very well. I also know others, that while supremely profitable, as near sweat-shops in working environment. Why all cannot work together for the benefit of all. Workers deserve a living wage and benefits, owners deserve a competitive return on investment. EDITORS NOTE: FixturesCloseUp apologizes if some might think this post not pro-union enough. In a lifetime I have been employed by 2 Union Shops. Sadly in neither case did I think the Union’s representatives served mainline members well or moderate in their demands of management. I am sure there are many good unions. I wish I had been a member of one to gain that perspective. Workers do deserve a voice. Meanwhile, I am happy to have mostly worked for non-union employers who automatically cared for their workforce and their families.
