Chewing Gum Recycling in Retail
First reported on in 2011, industry reviews motivated a return to Chewing Gum Recycling in Retail. The cost of removing chewing and bubble gums from surfaces is estimated at $2 an occurance. With the average person chewing 26 sticks of gum a year, the total gum cleanup cost at any facility can be more than any would want to pay. Hence the European-based concept for a GumDrop Gum Recycling Station. Chewers can just deposit their wad when it runs out of flavor or bubble-blowing capability. Wads are recycled into, of all things, GumDrop Gum Recycling Stations (and more). A great idea that has been self-supporting for over 7 years.
