One of the most basic of amenities is a simple “Welcome.” If our homes feature Welcome Mats and plaques with greetings, would stores feel more friendly if they followed suite? Part of the answer lies in your store brand. Do you project being the neighborhood gathering place for provisions? If so maybe a “Welcome” is in order. Only you can decide. My job is to show you how one suburban supermarket approached the issue. CLICK the thumbnail for a view of the sign in a broader visual context. Note the bicycle, evidence of shopping from nearby.
