More than the storage and lighting concept, what I took away from this Hospitality Retail setting was the establishment’s need to numerically code the locations of its vast wine offering. Though practical and functional, maybe filing by cabinet number might be a bit pedestrian for classy clientele. How about filing alphabetically, by vintage, year, winery, or just symbols representing the style or grape? If something cryptic like a symbol, the icon could be printed in the wine list giving the server a clue, but retaining the mystique of the system. CLICK through the gallery for different focuses. See that there is no “13,” possibly a particularly unlocky number for wine.
