Extra C-channel capacity is built into this aftermarket gondola shelf. The shelf mounts to standard gondola upright, seems quite heavy-duty, and features open wire shelves to shed dust and dirt and allow light to pass through to shelves below. But bare C-Channel … whether metal or plastic extrusion … is to me a waste of a communication opportunity and advertising space. Most retailers would use to house price and scan code. But in this case why not color coded inserts with genre IDs like “Family” “SciFi” and “Romance?” Use the extra Channel to cross sell or give directions to other entertainment opportunities like “Blu-Ray Format Available.” Pardon me for being a die-hard advertising man. I see blank space like this and immediately want to post advertising in it.
