Fencing is not often considered for a job this delicate. Maybe on occasion it should be. But I would hesitate just a bit for small skeins of cord like this, worried that they would get caught and unravel. But possibly wire as opposed to yarn and thread might be less prone to snagging on any sharp wire edges. The thickness of powdercoating would reduce snag-points too.
