More and more I see public service signs that free WiFi is available in-store and thoughout entire malls. I no longer think this is a way to attract and retain customers on site. It has grown to be an expected service everywhere. Though not searching the web in any focused way, even I dip in and out of the internet pool wherever I am out or shop. If I don’t have service, I find it irritating. In my opinion WifI is now akin to basic services like a water fountain, restrooms, and cart wipes. We just expect it to be there. But it is good for store image and public relations if you posts signs to broadcast your support of the service in-store.
