A recent post discussed shelf overlays as decor contrast, and a merchandise focal point. I thought it would be instructive to revisit the original site to see exactly what the long-range visual effect of Shelf Overlay from a Distance. Even though the message can’t be read, the slightly oversized C-channel fronts do attract the eye. From further across the store the shelf overlay is even more recessive but still visible. Still you should caution your management to use such techniques selectively. This overlay is seen because it contrasts and is a one-up occurrence.
