Particularly in smaller stores, it is always advisable to hire at least one “artsy” … someone with an Art Degree. Not only do they have style and taste, but many can hand letter a sign when you need one. A hand-lettered sign adds a sense of immediacy to the day’s promotion, implying buy now because you might not find this offer tomorrow. Nothing wrong with mass distributed signage from headquarters. But I will bet that a hand-lettered sign catches the eye better. Someone should do a study of the matter.
