Very interesting visual merchandising and psychology here. The shoes echo visually in multiple mirrors making more of an accessorizing cross sell from the clothing department in which it was found. But subtly the empty shoes imply someone else must find the offerings exciting enough to hasten with try-ons leaving shoes behind and almost forgotten. Very tricky. CLICK the thumbnail for closer views. Note that the shoes are mannequin-ized footwear with soles cut out to accept the internal reinforcements that keep the mannequin standing. All the more evidence these shoes are a “plant” and theatrical showcasing.
