Flags and nautical pennants have strict requirements on how they are to be hung and displayed (known as Flag Protocol and the International Code of Signals). Are there retail rules and hanging protocols for shovels? Most merchandisers would have hung these shovels blade up on the Undulating Arm and Loop-style Utility Hooks, freeing more of the gondola below for other items … ice melt (rock salt in my day), tire snow chains (are they still made?), Rosebud sleds (or was that only in Citizen Kane?). But visually I find this blade down arrangement more pleasing. And staff did interlace and nest the auto fold-a-shovels nicely into a vacant space. CLICK thumbnail for a tight shot.
