This Sign Saddle Mount Has Rubber Insert is a flexible insert that springs open then closed to snap onto and grip the backbar. It makes fixtures more difficult to remove. This might be an advantage with heavy metal components like this, and with customers inclined to mischief and experimentation. Such heavy fixtures can hurt if dropped. But ordinary “friction fit” saddle mounts may suffice in many situations. Nevertheless this added detail is very well conceived and does a good job.
