FixturesCloseUp Cited in Thesis – Huzzah! And you thought this pegboard hook and label holder stuff was not serious business? Fixtures Close Up is pleased to be a pending citation in a Social Anthropology Thesis underwork at the University of Manchester, UK. In fact the PhD Candidate is already a published author in the field. How strange it is, decades after my own graduate school and University research employment, to end up a small footnote in someone else’s academic paper. How much stranger when one’s life’s work is, to some, mundane store fixtures, now found worthy of minor mention in Social Anthropology studies via a Creative Commons Use License.
So as not to embarrass the PhD Candidate with her new “low brow” associations here, I posted the actual request separately as a comment to the original blog entry at “Bottle is Hung to Merchandise” where you may learn all the details if you are curious. As a further aside, several of my company’s whitepapers including “How Fixture Systems Achieve Retail Goals” and “Creating Compelling Sales Environments” have been used in graduate courses in merchandising by the New School University, NYC. Maybe pegboard hooks are not as prosaic as you thought? Once agin, FixturesCloseUp Cited in Thesis – Huzzah! Fixtures Close Up as a legitimate Academic Resource? Who would have imagined?
