Classic wood shelf edge C-channel as seen in bakery which, though remodeled, has decades of history in the business and retained many of the original fixtures.  Earlier posts on Bakery Label Holders were highly read. So I thought it might be instructive to show original solutions, which though old, were still in use.

I must assume much of the modern interest is because of the delicate product and it’s fragile packaging.  If you need fixtures that can accommodate, consider Hinged, dual-use Top-mount and C-Channel Label Holders that can swing out of the way rather than tear the bag and crush the contents.
