This hook backplate style is often seen in temporary POP corrugated displays. Here it crosses over to a more permanent exhibit of contrasting hook on a metal display surface. As long as the thickness of the display surface allows the backplate flanges to grip, the hook could mount to almost any material via a square punched hole.

I plan a post with this hook style actually wedged between wires of 1″ grid, but I think it was overly motivated store staff who believed the application valid, not one recommended by the manufactured. Watch for it.
