Dual-compartment bottomless basket forms dividers to organize and display tall gift wrap. Why two compartments? First it is cheaper to manufacture and more stable than two separate bins – bottomless or not. Second a single undivided compartment might be too large and overkill for any single wrap pattern. Third, the center divider forms a convenient carry handle (note the wider, finger-width spacing). Disadvantages? I think a bottom would allow quick reorganization and movement of stocked units. But then, I cannot claim to be a Gift Wrap specialist. I only know of one thing I prefer bottomless.
