These black Back Tags are visually recessive against the black backdrop of the vertical display surface. Prices positioned at the top allow the Back Tags to also function at least minimally as product price labels. Moving the UPC scan code up to just underneath the price might also make it more accessible to scanning.

If you need a better black, try an old printers trick.  Run a Super Black … Black with an underprint of Cyan. Don’t forget to “trap” the edges of the KO (type “knockout”) so there is a standoff and none of the Cyan “hangs” ruining a crisp edge. You might avoid the Super Black for the UPC code. It wouldn’t be visually necessary and would avoid any risk of scan inaccuracy due to misregistration.

Don’t like the visible white edge of the Tag? There are actually Duplex stocks. A White printing surface on Black back stock would address that issue. But I think that would be going way beyond the point of diminishing returns for a mere Back Tag … unless you were Tiffany’s,
