One of the fastest growing categories of fixtures is Plastic Hooks. But obviously something has gone awry here. Frontwires are snapped, sheared off at the backplate, and backplates seem improperly toleranced for the grid wire diameters and placement. Breaking and shearing are load failures, and in the light-duty Jewelry application these hooks were found in, translates into cheap hook materials. The backplate problem is an incorrect hook design for the use. I find it hard to imagine anyone purchasing hooks so poorly constructed or suited to the task. I suspect these may have been from a temporary POP prepack, and floor staff improperly re-purposed to a permanent display. The failed hooks were widespread. I hope someone from Visual Merchandising spots the problem soon and issues a storewide recall. Meanwhile if you are ever in doubt yourself, ask the manufacturer for samples to test, or upgrade to wire.
